Sue Reusser was kind enough to let me know about a recent radio show by Pat Sloan on her Creative Talk Network about Zentangles. Please see the web address below if you're interested in learning more:

November 15, 2011 Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended the last meeting on November 15, 2011! We finalized our Governing Board, had a great show and Tell, and heard from special guest Jenny Vetrone who was invited to speak about Zentangles.
Our Governing Board is as follows:
President: Rosanne Papadimoulis
Vice President: Linda Sekerak
Treasurer: Sue Reusser
Secretary: Judi Workman
Thanks to everyone who brought a piece for Show and Tell! We saw some very beautiful and accomplished art quilts and quilts in progress.
We also reminded everyone there will be no meeting in December!
We discussed the first challenge: Make a Quilt inspired by Zentangles. Jenny Vetrone was invited to talk about Zentangles and brought some very intricate and gorgeous examples of Zentangles. Zentangles are defined as a design made up of patterns put into a unit. The units make the overall design (please see pictures added the Challenges page). Zentangles are traditionally black and white, however if you want to use color, go for it! We decided the quilt itself must be no larger than 18"x 18". Other than that, anything goes.Quilts are due at the next meeting, January 17, 2012.
Next Meeting: January 17, 2012
Agenda:
Make sure you bring your fabric selections for the next Quilt Challenge! We will be doing a Gee's Bend inspired challenge using re-purposed fabrics (pants, shirts, scraps, etc...). Please bring a Gallon Sized Ziplock bag inside a paper bag filled with no less than 8 different fabrics- must be enough for an 18"X18" quilt and each participant must use at least 5. We will swap bags so the only fabrics you will be using come from the someone else. The only components each quilter can add is thread, batting of your choice and a backing- no additional embellishments (buttons, embroidery, beads or the like) and you will not be able to use any of your own fabrics. This Challenge #2 Quilt will be due at the April 17, 2012 meeting.
Thank you again and we hope to see you all at the next meeting!
